In my experiences, I have noticed that the homeless are either mentally ill or suffering with some sort of drug addiction. Of course, this is not set in stone. I once met a man who woke up and drove from California to Tulsa in order to attend Rhema Bible College. When he arrived in Tulsa, he was now broke and had nowhere to go. He had been staying in a shelter for several months by the time we crossed paths. Tonight, I approached a homeless man taking shelter at a bus stop. Immediately I recognized that he had some sort of mental problem, so after a few questions such as:- Will you be going to church tomorrow?
- To you, who is Jesus?
- Do you believe in a heaven and hell?
I decided to encourage him to read his Bible (he said he had one) and read the tract that I gave him. I will now continue to pray for him knowing with confidence that God can save him.
