I woke up this morning very eager to share, but was unable to get out of the house until after lunch. To find someone, Mia and I decided to go to the grocery store. The lines were outrageously long but that was good news. If anyone has spare time it's those that are waiting in line with nothing to do. After choosing a line, I noticed that the guy in front of me did nothing but look straight ahead. To get his attention I handed him a million dollar bill. I informed him that it was not real and that trying to purchase an item with it would not work. Here is how the rest of the conversation went:
Me: Today is called Good Friday. Do you know why it is called good?
Man: I have an idea.
Me: This was the day that Jesus was crucified. The Bible says all we like sheep have gone astray, but he has laid upon Him the iniquities of us all. All of our sins were placed on Jesus as He died upon the cross.
The man suddenly mumbled something I did not understand
Me: Pardon?
Man: (With a stern voice) I said, go minister to someone else.
Me: Okay.
Rejection is tough. My knees became weak when I realized that I now had to wait in line with a guy who clearly wanted me to go away. Suddenly, a lady asked me if I would move up to where there was no line. What a relief. Me and this man exchanged smiles as I moved to another line. As I walked to the car I had to remind myself that I was not the one that was rejected.
Isa 53:3
He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
